PANDEMIC VEHICLE CARE
The pandemic has not only impacted our lives it has impacted our vehicles. We are driving less. A vehicle not driven regularly will develop maintenance issues which can cause damage if not properly maintained. Let’s look at a few common examples:
Battery - Batteries re-charge while you drive. Vehicles that are sitting unused or driven only for short trips are reducing the batteries capacity. This is called undercharging.
Brakes - Brakes will begin to deteriorate and corrode if left unused for too long. This includes the hand brake.
Motor Oil - Vehicles all have a scheduled mileage and time interval for oil change. It might seem strange but the less you drive the more important it is to perform an oil change. If you are not driving on a regular basis, the engine is not reaching a high enough temperature to burn off things like excess water vapor and carbon, that can result in internal corrosion and possible engine damage later on.
Keep your vehicle healthy…….drive it regularly and have it serviced on time.
